Coronary flow in the internal mammary artery (IMA) is usually much higher than flow in the left anterior descending artery (LAD). We hypothesized that a positive correlation between flow in the IMA and flow in the LAD exists. Flow in LAD and IMA was measured in 25 patients. Coronary flow velocity was measured using a Doppler guidewire, and flow was calculated using the continuity equation. Coronary flow reserve (CFR) was calculated as the ratio between the LAD and IMA flow. In 3 patients (12%) flow in the LAD was 20:1 in 7 (28%). The IMA/LAD flow ratio was correlated with LAD flow, relative to LAD inflow artery (RIA) (y = 1.67x + 0.18, P A conundrum of gauges and gauging: reconciling calculations of carbon emissions by pipeline operators and nonoperators. This article addresses the relationship between alternative gauges adopted by a pipeline system operator (PSO) and suppliers (e.g., industry, restaurants, and households) to track and report pipeline-associated emissions. This problem is discussed as an example of the general question of establishing a common unit of measurement, in this case, the metric 82138339de
